Is it possible to Increase Metabolism?

Metabolism is the sum total of all sort of chemical reactions that happens inside the body that includes digestion of food, absorption and assimilation of various nutrients alongside all other things that happens to sustain life — such as heart pumping blood, lungs and various other organs working etc!

Most of the non-communicable lifestyle diseases that we see around us has yet another name — Metabolic Disorders! Improving metabolic parameters is the method for managing these diseases.

How to improve metabolism?

Improving metabolic rate, in a healthy way is not a one or two day process. The most reliable and healthy way to improve metabolic rate is to increase the lean muscle mass. With an increased amount of lean muscle mass, the body needs more calories to maintain it, which means a higher basal metabolic rate. And with an improved metabolic rate, a person can also consume more (healthy) calories.

Does it mean that you should eat more to increase metabolism?

Also, will a lot of exercise increase metabolism?
